It’s always handy to have a lightweight cover up. In this two-night class, you’ll make a jacket that’s slightly flared three-quarter length or full length sleeve is designed to move easily from work to play. You will learn how to read a pattern, layout pattern pieces on fabric, make sizing adjustments, sew an easy shawl collar and learn how fabric choices can change the look and feel of a garment. Pattern is for women’s sizes 8-24.

In the first class you’ll decide what style and size jacket you’ll be making and adjust the pattern if needed before cutting your fabric. You’ll begin with some sewing the first night. You may need to cut the sleeves out at home if we don’t have time in class but they will pinned to the pattern and ready to go. By the second class you should arrive with all of your pattern pieces cut and ready to sew. If you’re very new to sewing, expect to have some homework.

Prerequisite: The ability to operate a sewing machine on your own. Recent sewing experience. Some garment sewing experience is helpful, such as the skirt class but not essential.
