Enjoy creating a trivet, embellished with an elegant Dresden design. This trivet looks sophisticated and intricate – but this traditional quilting pattern has been created for embroidery to be fun and effortless. You’ll learn how to applique using your embroidery machine featuring two different techniques and two different stabilizers or 505 Adhesive spray.

What You Need to Bring to Class

Machine
• Your embroidery machine with embroidery unit and power cord in good working order
• Embroidery foot and needle
• Embroidery hoop large enough for 5.5″x 5.5″ design
• Bring your owner’s manual just in case

Fabric
• ½ yard for background; Cut into 4 pieces fabric 15” x 10” or large enough to hoop
• Light Appliqué Fabric: 4 pieces fabric 2 1/2” x 4.5” light fabric
• Medium Appliqué Fabric: 4 pieces fabric 2 1/2” x 4.5” light fabric
• Dark Appliqué Fabric: 4 pieces fabric 2 1/2” x 4.5” light fabric
• Backing fabric: 12″ square
• Binding fabric: 2 1/2” x width of fabric

Stabilizer:
• 4 pieces OESD Heavy Weight Tear Away 10” x 15” or large enough to hoop
• 6 pieces paper backed fusible web 2 1/2” x 4.5”
Notions:
• 2 pieces – 12” square Insul-Bright or quilt batting

Thread
• Isacord thread in five to co-ordinate with your fabrics
