Making throw pillows is an easy way to practice sewing zippers. With so much fun fabric available for inspiration what are you waiting for!

In this beginner class you will make two 16 inch pillow covers with an Invisible Zipper in one and an All Purpose Zipper in the other. Recent sewing experience and the ability to operate a sewing machine on your own is required.
What You Need to Bring
—sewing machine in good working order
—sewing supplies (such as thread, scissors, seam ripper, quilting pins)
—1 yard cotton fabric
—1/2 yard for each pillow (If you have a large pattern that you want in the center of the pillow get extra fabric.)
—1 All Purpose Zipper, 14” or longer (You can easily shorten the zipper)
—1 Invisible Zipper, 14” or longer
—matching thread
—Two 16” pillow forms
—Wonder Tape
—the basic (E) zipper foot that came with your machine
—an invisible zipper foot that is compatible with your machine
—an adjustable hinge zipper foot that is compatible with your machineIf you’re not sure zipper feet you have, then bring what you have. The instructor can loan you a foot or you can order zipper feet in advance of class at a 20% discount–once you pay for the class by calling the shop at (512) 459-3961.
You’ll get a 20% discount on fabric and notions that are in stock at NWSC so come early to shop.
